This year, Syntec Business Systems, the developers of Insight Software, is proud to be celebrating 25 years in the industry! Since 1991, we have been devoted to the success of salons and spas around the world. The foundations for Insight began with a six-chair hair salon all those years ago. From single-employee salons and chair renters to large, multi-location franchises, Insight has helped thousands of clients to become profitable. Business challenges

Before using Snapt, we were using DNS to route groups of our users to specific servers. As our operation grew, this became tedious. We wanted an easier way to send users to our group of servers, and to be able to take a server out of circulation for maintenance.
We tried using a different (free) load balancer before Snapt. We realized pretty quickly that when we took a server out of rotation, it dropped all the connections.

Solutions

Of course, disconnecting all your users from a server at once is not at all ideal – so our hosting provider suggested that we use Snapt. We decided to make use of the Snapt Load Balancer for RDP.
Snapt’s solutions have made it easier to perform rotating maintenance on our servers. It has also helped us provide our clients with a more stable system with less down time in the event that a single server has an issue in the middle of the day.
We have used the Snapt online support system a couple of times and the support team was also very helpful.

Results

An effective server management tool

The tangible difference we have noticed in our business is that when a server stops accepting incoming connections, users are simply routed to a different server – we often do not receive a single phone call.  Before using Snapt, we would get many phone calls in this type of situation, and we would have to update our DNS to route users to a different server.

We would definitely recommend Snapt’s easy-to-use system to other companies.
