Rack Nation is a Costa Rican data center, servicing businesses with a need for dynamic solutions in their IT environments.
Rack Nation is the result of over 13 years of experience in data centers. We are a group of IT professionals with broad experience in networking and systems development. In a market flooded with impersonal solutions, we strive to offer the best possible support for critical applications, in a friendly and professional environment with world-class monitoring and controls.
Business Challenges
One of the services we offer is high availability email, so we had to ensure that load balancing would not become a possible point of failure.
We needed a reliable, easy-to-configure product in HAProxy mode. We tried doing this with KEMP and NGINX, but load balancing different TCP ports became too much of a hassle.
Solutions
We found out about Snapt while researching other load balancing options. Our previous supplier was not cost-effective, and required specific hardware with exchange load balancing capabilities – so we decided to look for an alternative.
Results
Stable solution mixed with a friendly interface.
Snapt represents stability mixed with a friendly interface, and allows us to deploy on our own hardware. We are happy to say that:
- Is great value for money
- Is very stable in our Hosted Exchange venture
- Has never had a single glitch that could result in down time
- Is simple and clean to administer
- Has excellent ticket support, which you need for platforms that sustain critical applications.
We now serve over 4,000 enterprise-type inboxes using our Microsoft Exchange cluster. The most tangible difference is that all our NOC staff can manage the Snapt Load Balancer – our previous clusters required that we delegate administration tasks to our Linux-/UNIX-savvy NOC agents only.
In Summary
With Snapt, Navitas Solutions was able to:
- Move servers to UK-based hosting providers
- Reduce latency
- Introduce redundancy
- Improve customer satisfaction
